The story of Deliteful Taste Foods

After 12 years in the restaurant business, Darryl Brown was facing an uncertain future. Armed with only a favorite family rrecipe, a desire to help others and the support of his original colleagues, Darryl converted the beloved recipe into a seasoned coating mix that could be used to bake and fry seafood, fish, poultry, meat and vegetables. He launched Deliteful Taste Foods in 1998 and Tasty Delite Seasoned Coating Mix was a popular offering at six  major food chains until 2009.  Today, Deliteful Taste Foods has reemerged with a new look and the addition of Cajun and Cornmeal varieties.

Darryl Brown, President and CEO, Deliteful Taste Foods, Inc.

Darryl Brown grew up on the south side of Chicago, watching his uncle Raymond run his seafood restaurant, Solomon Fishery.  After working in the insurance industry and opening his own shoe store and beauty supply store, Darryl joined his uncle  in his flourishing restaurant as a partner. Darryl worked at Solomon’s Fishery for 12 years, opening three additional restaurants.  In 1996, the restaurants were sold and Darryl, with the support of family and friends, took the popular family recipe used at Solomon’s Fishery and created a seasoned coating mix called Tasty Delite.
